Hotter Than Haiti 10k

The second annual Hotter Than Haiti 10K will be hosted by the Asheville Outdoor Center in West Asheville. Run along the beautiful French Broad Greenway and Hominy Creek. View the race route. After the race, the whole family can have fun at the Asheville Outdoor Center. There will be music and fun along the river!
This event supports Consider Haiti, a non-profit organization based in Asheville. For more than 10 years Consider Haiti has promoted the health and welfare of children in and around Montrouis, Haiti, by providing medical care, sustainable nutrition programs, community based health programs and clean water.
Race Proceeds: All proceeds from The Hotter than Haiti 10K will benefit Consider Haiti.
Registration is $25 ($30 after August 2) at ImAthlete or Race Day Registration starting at 7:00 AM August 10th at the Asheville Outdoor Center. Register by July 31st to guarantee a t-shirt.
Online registration closes on August 8 at 9:00 PM but you can still register late during packet pick up hours at Second Gear on August 9 or register the day of the race at the Asheville Outdoor Center starting at 7:00 AM.
Race packets and t-shirts can be picked up Friday night, August 9th, between 5:00 and 7:00 pm at Second Gear, 444 Haywood Road in West Asheville (phone: 828.258.0757) or before the race beginning at 7:00 am.
The course starts and ends at the Asheville Outdoor Center. After leaving the Outdoor Center, the course runs along the French Broad River out to the Dog Park and back to the Outdoor Center. The course then continues past the Asheville Outdoor Center along beautiful French Broad River Greenway to Hominy Creek River Park and then onto Hominy Creek Road (out and back) before returning back to the Outdoor Center. There will be opportunities to get fluids four times along the course. Total Elevation gain is a mere 89 feet! Click here for an interactive map of the race route.

Unregistered runners, running with dogs, rollerblades & bicycles are prohibited on the race course at any time to ensure runners’ safety and to comply with liability insurance standards.
There will be no parking available at the Asheville Outdoor Center. There will be parking available at the end of Hominy Creek Road or at Carrier Park. From the end of Hominy Creek Road, it is a one mile, 12-13 minute walk to the Asheville Outdoor Center along the greenway. It’s a great way to warm up and look for birds along the river. The center is located adjacent to Carrier Park where there is plenty of parking available and a short walk to the Asheville Outdoor Center.
Top finishers overall and in each age group will receive prizes.
